Usually your Liberty Light will work directly out of the box. The steps below should be followed before you mount your solar light.
The solar Liberty Light will produce a softer illumination, which will not be as strong as incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. The reason being that solar lights are equipped with light emitting diodes. LEDs generate a different type of light.
In general solar lighting give better results without interfering light conditions. The darker the area, the better the lighting will be. Consequently, you should first choose the optimal location for your Liberty Light, and avoid sources of lighting such as spot lights or street lights. These lights will affect the brightness of your solar flag pole light.
Many factors can affect operating times of your Liberty Light: location, daily weather conditions, and season.
Under optimal conditions the solar flagpole light should operate between 10 to 12 hours. More typically you may experience between 6 and 12 hours of illumination.
Keep in mind that solar lights need unobstructed direct exposure. The sunnier the weather the more the batteries will charge.
The Liberty Light performs better during the summer months because the batteries are able to receive a longer charge. Weather conditions and charging time do affect performance.
The Liberty Light has a built-in photocell located on the back of the fixture. This device detects when the outdoor light level is low, and control the light for dusk to dawn operation.
Make sure the photocell is not affected by strong light sources around. When placed near another strong light source The solar flag pole light may not automatically switch on.
The rechargeable batteries that came with your Liberty Light can last between one to two years. Many factors can affect the life time of rechargeable batteries.
These batteries are widely available in retail stores or online.
The Liberty Light uses the AA 1500 mAh nickel cadmium rechargeable battery pack. You can purchase these battery packs online at most electronic retailers. Below are suggested retailers where they can easily be purchased. This type of battery pack is similar to the ones used for some cordless phones.

LEDs are different than light bulbs. A LED is an electronic component that emits light. They are not replaceable, however the life expectancy is very high. LEDs of your solar flag pole light are supposed to last for the lifetime of your Liberty Light.
Your Liberty Light doesn’t require any particular maintenance except for the occasional cleaning of the lens and the solar panel. By cleaning these parts, the lens will remains clear and the solar panel will get maximum exposure from the sun.
